A LEATHER TOPPED ELONGATED SLOPED FOOTSTOOL BY THOMAS CLARKSON & SONS, with beaded trim, raised on tapered turned legs. Very good condition over all, some minor ware from use – commensurate with age. Thomas Clarkson & Sons began manufacturing furniture from their Snow Hill premises in the middle of the 19th century, previous to this the family were clockmaker’s from the 17th century right up until the middle of the 19th, beginning first in London in 1640. Dimensions: 29 x 89 x 32cm (D x W x H – at the back, height at the front 28cm).
