Flintlock Boxlock Pocket or Overcoat Pistol signed 'SHAW', early 19th Century, 42 bore 1 5/8 in. turn-off barrel, sharp, clear London proof-marks, border engraved action decorated with stands of arms signed 'SHAW' to one side and 'MANCHESTER' over, sliding safety, drop-down folding trigger, slab sided wooden butt with blank white metal oval wrist escutcheon, all elements operate correctly, crisp action, 6 in. length. William Shaw worked as a gunmaker in Manchester, circa 1810-1830.
