Biba: A rare Biba playsuit,
c. 1966-8,
in patterned orange and brown cotton type fabric, sleeveless, with cutaway shoulders and collar, button fastening to front, bearing early 'Biba' labeled to interior, labelled size 6 (or 9)

Cilla can be seen wearing the Biba playsuit included in this lot in press images c. 1966/ 1967.

Cilla can additionally be seen wearing this garment on the cover of the 1969 Spanish release of the single 'Conversations/ Liverpool Lullaby' EMI Odeon.

Cilla was a regular client of Biba and had a close professional relationship with Biba's founder Barbara Hulanicki. Cilla can be seen in promotional photographs for the brand during the mid-1960s, particularly their move to a larger Kensington Church Street in 1966. The brand was important in defining Cilla as at the height of Swinging Sixties style, while Cilla provided the brand with a star name and the ideal Biba model.
