1st July 1916 Somme Casualty Medals WW1 British War Medal & Victory Medal 21798 Pte Edward Potter 8th Bn York & Lancaster Regiment. Pte Potter of Sheffield was killed in the assault on the Nordwerk and is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial as he has no known grave.
There is an assortment of copied documents including medal card, attestation and enlistment record, casualty form and a heart-breaking letter from his mother in 1920 asking for the location of his grave - all are copies, not originals.
