A WWII Japanese naval officer’s katana, blade 26" (polished, obscuring details) signed Ishido Tenihide Sakei, c 1940, the hilt with cord bound grip and standard pattern military mounts apart from the naval pattern tsuba, which is of plain darkened bronze with rising sun design in copper with gilt rays, the scabbard covered with polished fish skin and with standard pattern brass mounts retaining traces of plating.
