Boer War commemorative - a large equestrian, Staffordshire pottery "flatback" portrait figure of General Sir Redvers Buller VC. Buller commanded the forces in South Africa in 1899 working to secure the Relief of besieged Ladysmith. A hero of the Zulu War (VC for the daring rescue of an unhorsed colleague in the face of rapidly advancing Zulus).
