1961 Jaguar MkII 2.4, 2483cc. Registration number 103 UXG (non transferrable). Chassis number 108523DN. Engine number 7J1347-8.

Jaguar replaced the Mk 1 in October 1959 with the Mk 2, it was closely related, but heavily revised; slimmer windscreen pillars and deeper side windows enlarged the glass area. The removal of the rear wheel spats allowed the rear track to be widened, a move which increased roll resistance and stability. Otherwise, the running gear remained much the same as before, with Dunlop servo-assisted disc brakes on all four wheels. A redesigned dashboard with speedometer and rev-counter and the six toggle switches and four minor gauges grouped centrally, established Jaguar's layout for years to come.
UXG started her life as 23 CLO (in use on a Land Rover) with S.P. Wellard of Carshalton on the 3rd August 1961. According to the DVLA printed history she then went to Steven Chennels in 1986 with anew registration number of AHJ 735A, followed by Robert Swinger in 1999 and Merlin Hume in 2002. He changed the number to the non transferrable 102 UXG in 2004. In 2010 Stephen Hubbard became the next owner and in 2013 Bernard Shotter, followed by David Prior in 2015.
By 2021 Nick Tubbs spent some £1,500 on servicing with Malton Coachworks at 92,679 miles as well as another £1,650 on an EZ electric power steering conversion. In 2022 a Terry Barnes bought some consumables for the engine.
There is MOT history from 2003 at 81,987 miles through to when our deceased vendor purchased it from Malton Classic & Sportscar Centre in February 2023, receipt on file, with 93,132 on the odometer. Today it shows 96,520 miles. During his custodianship he fitted new Michelin XAS tyres at a cost of £1,551, self parking wipers, hazard warning lights, horn button and an immobiliser.
At some point it has had a full metallic blue respray, a new interior, Coopercraft front callipers, and automatic choke.
Having been stood for a while it took a little coaxing to fire up but than ran very well on a test drive. It should be noted that the overdrive did not engage on the four speed manual gearbox.
