Dated Berlin 16 May 1942, with handstamp signature of Erich Raeder. Framed with gilt embossed cream card folder.
Hellmuth Kurrer commanded U-189 on her launch on 1 May 1942 until she was sunk east of Cape Farewell (Greenland) by depth charges dropped by a British Liberator on 23 April 1943 with loss of all hands.
