Star Lot: A charming late 19th/early 20th century French eight day mantel clock titled "La Protection" (The Protection), after the model by sculptor Auguste Moreau (1834-1917), with the founder's or editors mark referencing Mlle d'Or. The clock features a circular gilt brass bezel surrounding a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, and painted floral decor to the centre. Surmounting the clock is a finely cast group of two birds. Hairlines to enamel dial.
