The medium size LS1 HMS Ulster Monarch with Colonel W A Darby and his First Battalion American Rangers on board destined for R Beach in the Z sector arrived 2315 on the 7th November at their lowering position CZ. The landing took place on the beaches surrounding the port of Arzeu and fortunately met little opposition. The French capitulated at noon on the 10th November 1942.
