1965-1970s collection of seventeen covers with variety of frankings from the 1965 Battle of Britain issue, mostly on illustrated covers, cancelled first day of issue, four with Biggin Hill marks signed by Battle of Britain pilots, including MacDonnell, Fenton, Kayall, Cunningham, Pickering, Lee, Gibbs, Gleave, Hope, Henderson, Stephen, Deere, Beaumont, Gillam, also 1977 Historic Aviators cover signed by Douglas Bader, (who shot down 23 German aircraft) accompanied by handwritten letter sent by Bader, press clippings and assorted ephemera, mixed condition, still a fascinating and historically important lot, recording the efforts of â??The Fewâ
