Note: Inscription in ink to verso reads: "John Beadle Bedolfe, born Rotting Dean, Sussex 1750, married 1774 Grace Viner, resided in his own estate Ovingdean Grange near Brighton. Died 1795. Buried Ovingdeen churchyard. Had 8 children all in Ovingdean. Of his sons James only married became father of D Bedolfe and R. J. C. Bedolfe... C. M. Bedolfe fecit Dulwich, May, 1870"
