AN EGYPT MEDAL WITH SUAKIN 1885 CLASP TO H.M.S. CONDOR. An Egypt Medal 1882-89 medal, undated reverse, with Suakin 1885 clasp, named to D. Dooley A.B. H.M.S. Condor. David Dooley was born on the 6th June 1862 in Ardfield, County Cork. He joined up as a Boy 2nd Class at Portsmouth on the 11th October 1877, eventually rising to the rank of Petty Officer on the 18th October 1888. He was awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on the 3rd March 1892. Pensioned ashore in 1900 he was recalled for the First World War, but quickly discharged due to chronic rheumatism. One of 122 such clasps to the gunboat HMS Condor. With copied record of service.
