A large Chinese porcelain famille rose centre bowl, Qianlong seal mark, of circular form and centrally painted with quail on a rocky outcrop amongst blossoming branches, the cavetto further decorated with conforming panels, against a puce cell-diaper ground, blue seal mark to the underside, 40.5cm diameter

The piece shows a small flaked loss to the rim rim approximately 4mm wide, and minor surface wear including minor rubbing to the gilt highlights, but no obvious chips, cracks, crazing or evidence of restoration.
