A BRONZE DECCAN SWORD HANDLE, INDIA, 17TH CENTURY

The hilt features a recurved knuckle guard that terminates in a floral bud. The crossguard includes prominent, pointed langets designed to secure a blade. The grip is ergonomically shaped and curves downward into a bulbous, rounded pommel. The surface retains small traces of gold koftgari overlay.
