£900
John Northwood II for Stevens and Williams, a Silveria iridescent glass vase, circa 1900, twisted organic form, pinched and flared to the rim, encased silver foil within pink, blue and amber shot shell, overlaid with random green web trailing, incised mark to the polished pontil SW, 15cm high Note: probably a collaborative effort with designer Frederick Carder, who later developed a range of iridescent and foil-cased glass at Steuben in America, the technique was difficult to perfect at the Stourbridge factory making the production short lived and the pieces quite scarce.
