A 19th century French ivory gold and silver-gilt pocket vanity case, the hinged lid having an inset enamelled gold filigree plaque with motto "Il Est Toujours Fidele" (He is always faithful), the interior fitted with silver-gilt lidded compartments and miniature comb, width 9cm
Right short edge has a split in ivory, other short edge has 2 faint hairline cracks, hinge working perfectly, gilding very bright, marks clear, comb missing 1 tooth
