Clarice Cliff - Moira Fosyth - Unrecorded design - A large Perth shape jug circa 1934, hand painted with a figure amongst abstract flowers and foliage by a river in tonal pink, brown and blue with abstract wave line banding, hand painted M.F 1935 - Clarice Cliff, Newport Pottery, height 15cm.

NB - Moira Forsyth was the daughter of Gordon Forsyth and became an artist in the field of stained glass. This design is unrecorded and to date is the only known example ever created. The date would suggest that it was a trial for the Harrods Art in Industry Exhibition.

More Information

Free from damage or restoration - ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - The attribution to Moira Forsythe is based on Will Farmers research and knowledge around the 1934 exhibition and those involved with the project. It is our opinion and based only on discussions and others working on extensive research for the Harrods Art in Industry exhibition.
