A small Victorian pocket Book of Common Prayer and administration of the Sacraments. A nice tooled leather bound example, with brass edging, clasp and gilt edged pages. The inside front page bears the inscription of the original owner - a Captain of D. Company, the 53rd Regiment (Shropshire Regiment of Foot), Jersey 1877. Records show D company of the 53rd were indeed stationed on Jersey in 1877.
