Christofle, a nineteenth-century French first-standard silver ewer, decorated in relief with flowers and foliage, the lower half with cut-card style panels with harebells, the body with opposing vignettes initialled 'P' amidst foliate scrolls and rope-twist surround, with a Bacchic-style mask below the spout, and a foliate scroll capped double-S scroll handle, the foot rim inscribed, 'CHRISTOFLE ORFEVRES. PARIS.1883', struck with the Minerva 1 mark, and the Christofle maker's mark of a bee hovering under 3 stars framed by two Cs (Christofle & Cie), height 39cm, weight 2,103g/67.61ozt approx
