An English porcelain rectangular plaque of the Castle of Chillon, Chillon Castle on Lake Geneva by Joseph Birbeck (Junior), late 19th/early 20th century, painted by Joseph Birbeck, artist signed 'J. Birbeck', titled to the reverse, framed, 20.5cm wide x 15cm high Notes: Joseph Birbeck Junior was born in Coalport, Shropshire to a family of talented porcelain artists and decorators. He trained at the Coalport factory, where he was at one time foreman of a painting shop and his notable work includes landscape painting after Turner. He joined Copeland in 1881 before working at Brown Westhead & Moore and latterly Royal Doulton from 1900 - 1926.
