Taxidermy: Trenaman & Griggs, London, successor to J Cooper & Sons: an early 20thC mount of a Common Roach (Rutilus Rutilus), mounted within a naturalistic setting in a bow fronted case, the verre eglomise front with inscription: Roach - caught by J.G. Simmons in the Ouse 19th. Sept. 1912. Wht. 2 lbs. 20 1/2" wide, 12 1/2" tall, 5 3/4" deep

Together with an early 20thC studio portrait of the Simmons family, Stony Stratford. Mr. J.G. Simmons standing to the left. With family provenance on a John Bly Antiques label, handwritten by John Bly verso.
