Mounted for display, accompanied by a quantity of research. Military Medal London Gazette 28th March 1919 MID London Gazette 18th December 1917 Belgium Croix de Guerre London Gazette 15th April 1918 Private William Richards came from Begrave Leicester and enlisted on the 7th December 1915. He landed in France on the 12th July 1916. He was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal, only to be broken for not following the order of a superior Officer. He is noted as suffering heart trouble after being buried by enemy shell fire in October 1918.
