1911 (Sep 9) Envelope proof in an unissued red colour, the monogram omitted from the reverse, with enclosed notepaper printed in a similar red colour on light blue paper, the letter written from Hendon Aerodrome. Addressed to "Sir James Murray, Oxford", franked KGV 1d tied by the London Aerial Post c.d.s code 6, used at Hendon Aerodrome, marked inside the flap "arrived at Oxford 15 Sept 1911", flown on one of the two Sept. 14th flights. A very scarce postally used envelope proof. Photo on Page 10.
