A very fine hallmarked-silver desk stand: having a central urn with circular hinged lid, flanked by two cut-glass inkwells with hinged silver-plated mounted covers, the three items raised on a higher raised plinth with egg & dark style moulding, down sweeping to pen trays below and the plinth style base with Greek key fret style border raised on four bun-style feet with lappet style capped tops, maker's mark JD&S, assayed Sheffield possibly 1880 (mark's rubbed) (32.5cm wide including bun feet x 19.5cm deep (also including bun feet) x approx. 20cm high to tip of urn, total weight of stand (not including cut-glass inkwell approx. 1071g)

Good general condition with surface scratches and assay marks rubbed. No inscriptions, minor chips to glass inkwells on bases and 3 mm chip to top of one inkwell. No liner to central urn.
