Star Lot - An incredible rare 18th century Meat Platter. This magnificent example features four Imperial Chinese dragons with a border of intertwined cobra snakes. With a striking cadmium red background detail.
A much smaller dinner plate in this pattern is displayed in the USS Constitution Museum. The museum plate was retrieved from the HMS Guerriere following a defeat by the USS Constitution in 1812.
the top of the plate is in very good condition there is a chip to one of the feet. Plate surface in excellent condition. L54cm x W41cm.
This is a very rare fabulous platter, there was a small plate with damage sold at Auction for €440, This is a huge platter and maybe the only one in existence.
