1861 3d Rose (Plate 2, State 1, with shaded spandrels). Very fine imperforate vertical pair lettered BD-CD, from a printer’s ‘make ready’ proof sheet printed in the issued colour on unwatermarked rose wove paper. Rough torn at top with good margins on other sides, some light tones at upper right. Very rare and unlisted in Spec.1 catalogue.
