Property of a lady - a mid 19th century Indian carved sandalwood box with interior tray with lidded compartments, on carved lion's paw feet, one end edge moulding of lid is missing, 10ins. (25.4cms.) wide (overall); together with another 19th century Indian carved sandalwood box (2). Provenance - Hezekiah and Anne Clark, and thence by direct family descent. Hezekiah Clark was senior surgeon of the Honourable East India Company Service and later the Bengal Medical Service. He and his wife Anne Clark lived at Government House in Calcutta from 1823 until the late 1840's.
