A GEORGE III SILVER TWO-HANDLED SAUCE TUREEN & COVER. on an oval pedestal base, with reeded loop handles and an urn finial, the body & cover crested, makers mark partially worn, probably by John Robins, London 1792, together with a non-matching Old English pattern sauce ladle, crested, by Richard Crossley, London 1809; the tureen 9.5" (24.1cm) long; 18.8ozt (2). *CR Both pieces with wear, the tureen with evidence of erasure to one side, the foot split & repaired, cover with a small split by the ladle slot, rocks in place a bit and has a few pin dents all over.
