A 19th century Sunderland lustre documentary large jug, to Thomas and Mary and George and Charles Miles 1848, with mariner's arms and verse with transfer print of the Iron Bridge over The Wear, together with a smaller Sunderland lustre jug "The Good Wife" also with transfer print of the cast iron bridge over The Wear. Largest height 22 cm, maximum width 28 cm (see illustration).
The small jug is in good order, it shows signs of age related wear but nothing untoward. The larger jug has a chip to the left-hand side of the spout on the edge which is +3-4 mm in length. There is also a star crack to the base. Internally there is a small patch of discoloured crazing.
