A wonderful original batik print titled "Red Candles" by the Irish artist Bernadette Madden. Depicts an abstract study of an interior featuring a house plant on an upright piano to the centre, with shelving and desk visible in the background. Madden is well established in the art world and has exhibited with Soloman fine art gallery. She sells in the mid hundreds.

Born in Dublin Ireland, Bernadette Madden studied in the School of Painting at the National College of Art and Design graduating in 1970. She works mainly in batik (wax resist on linen) and also makes screenprints on paper. Her work is in the collections of the Arts Council the Office of Public Works the Bank of Ireland and the Ulster Museum. Awards include the Macauley Fellowship in Painting.
