A Chinese Lushan phosphatic splash-glazed ewer, Tang Dynasty The heavily potted vessel with ribbed loop handles, everted rim and short conical spout, covered with a lustrous dark brown glaze stopping short of the foot, decorated with milky-blue phosphatic splashes. 31.5cm high Property of a private London collector. Footnote:For a vessel with very similar decoration see Christie's Hong Kong, Chinese Ceramics From The Yangdetang Collection, 30 November 2016, lot 3106. A ewer of very similar shape can be found in the collection of the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, object no.B60P135.
