A Collection of Vintage Novelty Ceramic Chef Egg Cups
A collection of novelty ceramic egg cups, each modelled in the form of a chef's head and shoulders. The pieces are constructed from glazed earthenware, with the traditional white toques serving as the egg receptacles. The figures feature hand-painted facial details, including various styles of mustaches and facial expressions. Decoration includes colourful neckerchiefs in shades of blue, yellow, and red. One example is inscribed with the word EGG in red block lettering to the hat, while another depicts a more detailed caricature with a winking expression and textured hat. These items are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century novelty kitchenware. No maker marks are visible to the exterior surfaces.
