ENGLISH MALLET WINE BOTTLE. 9.1ins tall, c. 1740-45. Black - actually dark amber brown glass - most unusual. Tooled lip, pointed string rim. Full sheen, no lip or rim damages, deep kick up, very rough pontil. Various hand written David Walker Barker base labels credit it was acquired Friday 19 January 2001. A superb example of its type.
