An impressive 19th century gilt metal chiming French mantel clock featuring Roman iconography to include Roman military helmet, SPQR aquila, Romulus and Remus being suckled by the she-wolf, River god Tiberinus holding rudder, stroking his beard and leaning on amphora, and acanthus leaf border to base. The body of the clock is then supported on four mythical sea creature feet.
