A Roman Arretine red slip Terra Sigillata cup or dish, with accompanying collectors label ' Augustan Pottery not later than 14AD (over 1,900 years old) ', first produced in Arretium (Arezzo), Italy, although they were wildly popular in other areas of Roman control, particularly Gaul, the dish raised on central circular foot and having a pronounced rim with applied rosettes above, the inner bowl with makers mark (C.C.?? ), 4 5/8in. (11.8cm.) diameter.
* Condition: One inner rim chip, otherwise very good.
