A rare palaeontological find, a Radiolites sauvagesi (d’ Hombres-Firmas 1838) from the Parnassus Mountains of
Central Greece. Of Albian-Cenomanian, Upper Cretaceous (113-93 million years) age. Both valves present, the left
valve slightly asymmetrically domed, the right valve ribbed with strongly folded lamellae. A good representative of
the Rudist family, known for its reef building capacity in the Tethys Sea, often associated with bauxite and
hydrocarbon deposits. Dimensions: 11 x 10 x 9 cm, weight: 462 g.
