AN 18CT GOLD FIVE STONE DIAMOND RING, CENTRAL DIAMOND 1.06CT
One central old European cut diamond, measuring approx 6.40mm x 6.42mm x 4.0mm. Calculated diamond weight: 1.06metric carat, colour assessed J/K, clarity assessed SI2. Chip extending from girdle into star and kite facets. Flanked either side by an off round old Brilliant cut diamond, one measuring approx 5.51mm x 4.9mm x 3.10mm and one measuring 4.90mm x 4.80mm x 2.28mm, with a further two off round cut European cut diamonds set eitehr side, one measuring 3.80mm x 3.75mm x 2.97mm and one measuring 4.0mm x 3.7mm x 2.28mm. Total estimated diamond weight for the remaining stones excluding principle stone: 1.34 metric carat, colour J/K/L throughout, clarity SI-I2. Stones divided by eight rose cut and eight cut diamond set dividers, measuring average throughout approx 1.2mm All keeper stones have chips to upper facets, all off round old European cut diamonds have abrasion to girdle edges and chips to some of the upper facets.
Overall condition of the ring: There has been some repair work to head or ring, porosity evident to the scroll claws and under gallery shoulder work with cracks to the under side of setting. Restoration has been in keeping to the style of the ring, but porosity is evident. No hallmark, stamped 18ct, tests at 18ct gold with rhodium finish head. PRV.
