A 19th century continental porcelain potpourri of egg shape: the finely gilded pierced dome-topped cover surmounted with a pineapple-style finial above three insects and opening on a gilt metal hinge above main body individually decorated with three differing vignettes of exotic birds within low relief gilt cartouches, supported on three French-style scrolling legs upon a circular base with alternating gilt arches in further low relief, painted puce letter mark to underside (17.25cm high)
