A Chinese porcelain iron-red brush pot (bitong), Qianlong seal mark, of cylindrical form and externally painted with two famille rose reserves depicting quail beside a rocky outcrop, iron-red seal mark to the underside, 13.5cm high

The piece shows the odd small pit and frit, the odd small glazing fault and surface wear commensurate with age including rubbing to the gilt highlights, but no obvious chips, cracks, crazing or evidence of restoration.
