A Japanese type 95 Shin-Gunto sword and scabbard, fitted a cast one-piece tsuba, pigskin covered scabbard and grip, the sword is accompanied by a letter of authorization detailing: "Authority, 10601258 L/ CP Brown, The above named NCO is hereby authorised to retain 1 Japanese Officer's sword" illegibly signed by the Lieut -Colonel, commanding 2nd Reconnaissance Regiment (Royal Armoured Corps)" dated March 19th 46 SEAC, 57.5 cm length of blade. Together with a Chinese Duan-Jian (short sword) and scabbard, Qing Dynasty, late 19th century, with tortoiseshell covered scabbard the spearpoint double-edged blade with shou engraved "Bat" cross guard reeded wooden grip and shaped pommel, 44 cm length of blade.
