The first of six wordless novels by the talented printmaker Lynd Ward (1905-1985), told exclusively through woodcut illustrations. A Faustian tale of a struggling young artist bargaining his soul for a magical paintbrush, 'God's Man' was the work that built Ward's reputation, and was an influential precursor to the development of the graphic novel.
