A Western Asiatic carved soapstone stele, Mesopotamia, carved with two Assyrian gods, the reverse carved with a vase issuing scrolling foliage, 18cm x 15cm

The design on the front is carved in low relief with incised outlines. The design on the back is relief carved. The stele shows residue and ingrained dirt to the carved border. The front and back panels show surface wear throughout. The top left corner shows a loss approximately 10mm x 10mm. The stone shows natural fault throughout.
