Attributed Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Post 1881 Officers Foreign Service Helmet, superb example of the Zulu / Sudan war type officers foreign service helmet produced in white covered cork. Six panel example with folded white cloth pagri to the centre. Helmet is complete with silver (not hallmarked) regimental badge of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. Backed linked chin chain and brass spike base with spike. Green cloth covering to the interior of the helmet shell, tan leather sweatband and red silk linining. Housed in its original japanned storage tin with brass name plaque ‘C. M. King Esq Argyll & Sutherland Highrs’. Overall a superb example.
