A GEORGE III NAVAL OFFICER'S SWORD AND SCABBARD BY DRURY OF LONDON. The 82 cm broad curved blade with central fuller, marked indistinctly 'O I NN O I' and possible arabic markings to the back of the blade. On a naval type guard with straight cross-piece with unusual mask langets, perhaps 'poseidon', with narrow knuckle guard, checkered ivory grip and lion's head pommel. In a brass mounted black leather scabbard with twin ring suspension and three mounts, the top mount marked 'Drury Cutler to his Majesty, Strand'. 97 cm. Ivory Submission Reference: 3554T1ZD.
Scabbard with slack leather and wear throughout - but intact. The balde with marking and pitting, chipping to ivory by the top mount.
