A good 17th century Charles I oak panelled chest, having a carved frieze, arcaded front panels and diamond carved side panels, on stile supports. Formerly of the Ashurst Park Estate where it was disposed of via Sotheby’s in 1982, selling for £360.

Condition report: Old repair to lid. Missing hinges. Evidence of historic woodworm.
