Paul Hoskin Abstract Arcs Recycled Copper and Agate Studio Wall Mirror
This contemporary studio wall mirror is a handcrafted piece by the Cornish artist Paul Hoskin, operating under the name Abstract Arcs. The frame is constructed from recycled copper, salvaged from old boilers and hot water tanks, and worked into an irregular abstract shape with wavy edges. The metal surface exhibits a heat-tempered finish with iridescent shades of blue, bronze, and gold, which has been lacquered to preserve the coloration. The frame is inset with three polished orange agate cabochons. The central mirror plate is square with rounded corners. The reverse is fitted with a green backing board that carries several labels. These labels identify the maker as Paul Hoskin, the business name Abstract Arcs, and describe the recycled materials and heat-application process. An inscription records the purchase at Creftow Gallery, Helston, on 25 May 2005.
