A Set of Four Spode 200th Anniversary Limited Edition Fine Bone China Commemorative Plates
A set of four Spode fine bone china plates issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the creation of fine bone china. The collection consists of two distinct pairs of plates. The first pair comprises two octagonal plates featuring transfer-printed scenes of traditional Staffordshire bottle kilns in autumnal tones, set within a gilded foliate and scroll border. These are from a strictly limited edition of 200, with one certificate showing number 0114. The second pair consists of two circular plates with reticulated or pierced lattice borders. These borders are interspersed with solid panels containing floral sprays on a navy blue ground with gold detailing. One circular plate features a central fruit cluster (Design F1889), and the other features a central floral bouquet (Design F1893). These circular plates are from a limited edition of 2000, with one certificate showing number 0268. All four items are accompanied by their original blue presentation boxes featuring the Royal Warrant of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Spode branding. Individual certificates of authenticity are included for each piece.
