The black lacquered case decorated with Boulle marquetry in silver, brass and tortoiseshell, with scrolling and stylized flowers, the top having torch finials to each corner above an arched top dial with a gilt brass chapter ring having Roman numerals and pierced gilt hands, the two train 8 day movement having countwheel strike on a single bell and back plate engraved 'Didier Lalemand Paris', 53cm high x 32.5cm wide
