A large Roman iridescent glass unguentarium, 1st-2nd century AD, of candlestick form with widely flared, flat, folded rim, a slender, slightly tapering body and outset conical base, the underside 'kicked-up', 7¼in. (18.5cm.) high, old collector's labels to base.
* Condition: Intact, with no damage to the glass. Patches of peacock coloured iridescence to the rim, neck and base, amidst a thin layer of mid-brown encrustation. The underside has a thick layer of silver and peacock iridescence.
